Your starter for ten. How many bottles of beer would you have for sale in the away end catering windows at Selhurst Park for a Tuesday night fixture?
a) None
b) 96
c) Over 500
If you've answered a) then you've never been to an away game before.
If c) then you have.
If b) then you must be the numpty who works for Crystal Palace. 96 bottles for everyone to share, no wonder Palace are losing more money than minor Scottish Building Societies. The bars were dry before half time.
Anyway, to the game. Not a bad turn out from the Urban Cookie Collective, as yours truly, SBJ, G2, Matt (no, really, he did come to an away game) Nick the Greek (honorary member on his 3rd game of the season) and Jezza (his first game in years) made the trip down to Norwood Junction.
We played well, and Gunner headed nicely passed Peroni for a good opener. Yet again though, we failed to put the game out of reach, and Gunner missed two gilt-edged chances to claim a hat-trick. He's obviously got used to scoring in a different box at the moment and must be somewhat distracted.
Ten Burners then dummied a back pass, without checking to see the Palace sub standing right behind him. The equaliser, nicely gift wrapped, left everyone with head in hands.
So, another draw. On to Plymouth, where at least one, and maybe three of us will be attending, then back to the Ricoh to see Charlton lose yet again.
